I awoke from a dream a few nights ago in which God was explaining to me the season that I have been in and while contemplating that dream I began to pen this poem:
I Will Press On
I look about me and see a storm raging.
I look within me and feel a fire roaring.
I look toward the heavens and see my Father smiling.
With a gaze into His eyes, I press onward.
I press on, through this raging storm;
For I know it is only the Devil's tantrum.
I press on, allowing this fire within me to roar;
For this is the sound of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah!
He is taking territory within me.
Yes, I will press onward.
The storm may rage but the Lion is roaring!
In the midst of this blazing fire within me,
There is a peace I have found and a promise gained:
What is blazing within me will consume me,
Explode through me,
Quench that which surrounds me,
And ignite those that come to me!
Yes, I WILL press on!
I really like the way this finishes, so incredibly powerful, not with force, but power in love for His due reward. I love the back-to-back phrases "will consume me, explode through me"... and the words "quench" and "ignite"... such great imagery, Brittany.
